Ciao! I like to think that every student of mine was a challenge in a peculiar way. I have worked with European students abroad, retired professionals, University students in Asia, company employees and teenagers: every time I have found the best way to have fun both, taking advantage of any opportunity to understand my language and my culture!
I'm currently working as an online tutor with beginners, mainly from English speaking countries, who are generally not familiar with the language learning process. I usually help them to get some confidence in facing basic conversations as tourists in the country. I like to engage a fun conversation about different topics like my country's culture, Italian modern literature, art and cinema history due to my solid background in these disciplines. I am also a very curious person, keen to explore new topics, so much that I had eventually supported my students'interests through language practice (for example: reading Italian sport magazines together or watching videos about Italian cuisine).
I really believe that having fun teaching is the first cause for having fun learning.

Hi everyone, I am Anna and I am a professional Italian teacher for foreigners. I come from Venice where I live and work. I can help you in the study of modern Italian as it is really spoken nowadays. I am a bilingual Italian and English teacher and a freelance translator at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. I completed the ITALS Master's degree for teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. My field of specialization and current research is Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics to better understand what happens in our brains and minds when we study a foreign language and what emotions are involved. I specialize in teaching adults and seniors and am currently studying in a Psychology course at Yale University. I also have a CEDILS certification to teach Italian culture abroad. I have been teaching Italian and English since 2004. I work with students from diverse backgrounds and my classes are for anyone who wants to improve and deepen communication, grammar, vocabulary and reading.
I always pay attention to your needs no matter what your level is. We will work on your confidence because we are all students and I know how difficult it is when you can't find the words to express what you are thinking and feeling. My lessons are all customizable because I think every student is different and has their own personal way of learning. I will be so happy to work with you and help you reach your goals.
I am also a podcaster, the host of "Una Storia ItaliAnna," a podcast channel you can find here on LanguaTalk at the podcast page. You can also visit my YouTube channel and buy my books on Amazon to practice the Italian language.
When I am not teaching, I travel. I lived in London for a while and also in Liverpool while I was writing my dissertation. I also speak Spanish, so I am also a language student and understand very well how difficult it is to study a language.
So what are you waiting for? Book a trial lesson and we'll figure out together how I can help you!

My name is Lucrezia and currently I live in Barcelona.
I'm Italian and have studied first in Italy, completing a Bachelor Degree in International Communication and then in Germany obtaining a Master of Arts in Communication at Duisburg-Essen University.
I have experience in teaching Italian both in classes and online for all levels, from beginner to advanced and for all ages from child to adult.
The languages I speak are Italian, German, English and Spanish.
My approach to teaching is using the direct method of teaching, where the students are encouraged to speak in the target language in real contexts or about real topics. I love teaching as it enables me to share my passion for communication, share ideas, see the students grow in knowledge and skills and above all have fun!
If you would like to learn Italian with me, please book a trial with me!
Thank you! Grazie!

Hi everybody!
My name is Margherita, I am from Milan, I am living in Tenerife now and I have been an Italian teacher for 7 years.
My motto is: if you are a polyglot, you can do anything!
I personally speak fluently both Spanish and English as I have worked and lived in Ireland, Australia and Bolivia, before moving to the Canarian Islands.
What do I offer to my students?
- conversation classes on any subject at any level (from 0 to C1)
- professionalism and fun (how can you learn if you are bored?)
- material adapted to your needs
- links on which keep practicing online
- the opportunity to learn Italian for pleasure, tourism or work
- fluency in Italian and in pronunciation
- comparison with English to understand the differences between the 2 languages
- a humanistic-affective approach which is student-centred
- if you want, lessons with other people
- and why not? if you want, even a friend
I graduated in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation in Milan in 2013 and afterwards I achieved the Master Itals aimed at teaching the Italian language and culture to foreigners.
I have taught Italian for four years in La Paz, Bolivia by the SOCIETà DANTE ALIGHIERI, giving classes to adults and university students, while I have taught to kids and adolescents by the Colegio Italo-Boliviano of the same city.
I returned to Italy in 2019 and I was given the opportunity to teach Italian through the Berlitz school by the Leonardo Elicotteri Company, addressing to English managers and engineers.
As regards my teaching method, the student is the centre of the learning process.
Therefore I customize my lessons considering your interests and the topics you want to talk about using different materials like videos, songs, online activities, along with written texts.
This way lessons are based especially on CONVERSATION as I think that each language's goal is to communicate.
So let's start with a talk on the trial lesson to know each other and see which goals you want to reach and by when, then together we choose the path to follow, considering your needs.

Hi, my name is Chiara and I’m from Italy, but I lived abroad for about 6 years, in the UK, in Australia, in New Zealand and in Perù.
I love traveling and meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. That’s why I decided to study languages. I am a polyglot and besides English and Italian, I can also speak Spanish, French, and German. So I know what it’s like to study a foreign language! I can teach you how to improve your speaking, and your listening, because I’ve done it myself in the first place! I also know that sometimes learning a language is not easy, but I know how you can overcome these difficulties.
My lessons vary according to the student’s needs. During our first lesson together we will decide what your goals are and what your level is. My lessons focus on conversation to give you a chance to practise what you have studied independently, and then, if needed, we can revise together some grammar points and learn some vocabulary.
My first goal is always to make the student feel comfortable in speaking another language so that they can feel confident about it and make progress more easily.
I believe the secret to learning a language is enjoying the process, having fun is the key!
I look forward to meeting you,
A presto!

I am Italian but I did my university in Scotland where I studied BA Economics. I love teaching in general and I love the contact with people: I was Italian tutor for international students, sports coach, and environmental projects assistant. I have a high sense of empathy and very good communication skills as well as listening skills. My teaching method is based on listening the needs and peculiarities of each student: some might want to focus on conversation, some on grammar, on a mix of everything, or on the preparation of a specific exam. I try to make every lesson fun and enjoyable. On top of the academic resources that I use, there are always more "informal" ones, including Italian songs, TV shows, recipes, etc... which will give you a sense of the Italian culture as well.

Ciao! I am Chiara, an Italian girl from Venice who is now studying in London ;)
Studying and sharing knowledge is my passion, that is why teaching is my dream job. I hope you are going to be a part of it!
I like to keep my teaching varied and fresh! First of all, I adjust my teaching to the age and the needs of the students, but I always love to interact a lot during lessons (that is also the best way to learn a language and to have fun ;) ) Depending on the student, I use songs, tales, newspaper, ppt presentation or exercises.
Teaching is a passion for me, that is why I have been doing it for 3 years! I have taught different students with different needs. I taught for 6 months to two students of 14 years old who needed some help because they were not going good at school, then I helped a 20 years old guy to pass his boarding exam for three months and my latest student is a girl of 22 years old who has to take a university exam.
Whether you want to get ready for a trip to Italy or you want to get deeply into the language, here I am! ;)

Hello!
My name is Ilaria and I studied International Communication at "University for Foreigners of Perugia", but don't worry (in Italian we would say "tranquillo"), I'm 100% italian!
I have a certification of competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language or second language (CEDILS) issued by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
My first experience in teaching Italian as a second language was in 2009 in the south of France.
Once back in Italy I began teaching Italian to foreign students at school...it was 2010.
I've been doing it since then and my students come from all over the world. Today I know for sure that is not enough to be a "native" to teach someone a language.
Grammar is often considered boring but we can't avoid learning it. Only when you know the role and function of every single word in a sentence you'll have a solid understanding that will improve your confidence in speaking a foreign language.
It's like to lay the foundations for building a house!
So, what can I do for you?
I can make my experience and knowledge available to you and make your learning process easier and faster without forgetting that it should be also pleasant and enjoyable.
If you're not a beginner we can better explore the language and see together all its nuances.
We can concentrate on lexicon, common expressions, pronunciation and much more.
I'll guide you but first of all your needs will guide me to trace the path in reaching our common objective!
Do not hesitate if you have any questions. I'll be happy to answer you.
Thank you for your time!
I hope to see you soon at the trial lesson!

Hi! It’s Michela from Italy. If you want to learn Italian from scratch or just improve your general competence, widen your vocabulary in a specific field or focus on exam preparation (e.g. CILS) in a friendly and engaging environment, I’ll be more than happy to guide you in becoming a more confident, proficient and autonomous learner and speaker.
Being a language learner myself I find it easy to put myself in my students’ shoes in order to constantly tailor my teaching to their needs.
TEACHING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
I've been working as a licensed teacher of English as a foreign language in Italian Secondary Education for several years (permanent position).
TEACHING APPROACH
I use a variety of teaching methods, materials, activities and tools. In particular, I try to take advantage of audio and video materials and love experimenting with new approaches and technologies. I also strongly believe that teaching vocabulary and grammar in context based on topics relevant to my students plays a crucial role in fostering language development. Finally, my students’ questions and feedback are always of great value to me.
Thank you for checking out my profile. If you book a trial session with me, we’ll see together how I can help you shape your learning journey to achieve your goals.

1-on-1 lessons are perhaps the best way to improve speaking skills, and because of this many students use LanguaTalk to learn to speak Italian fluently. That said, some students have other, more specific goals. Tell your tutor what your goals are and they'll tailor the lessons to your needs. Most tutors can help with any of the following:
New to LanguaTalk? You'll have one credit for a free trial. Most tutors offer a trial for free. If they do not, they’ll offer a trial session at a discount compared to their usual hourly rate.
Trial sessions last 30 minutes. They allow you to assess whether the tutor is a good fit for you, and get a feel for learning online. The tutor will assess your level and aim to understand your needs and interests so that they can customise any lessons you decide to take. You'll be encouraged to speak in Italian as much as possible, but of course you can speak in English too!
After your session, if you feel that the tutor isn’t quite right for you, you can simply book a trial with someone else.
Most of the Italian tutors on our site are able to teach students of all levels. When you click on a tutor's profile you'll see if certain levels are not supported. For example, certain tutors cannot teach complete beginners.
Likewise, you can also see on the tutor's profile whether they're suitable for all ages. Online Italian lessons are sometimes taken to support school/college studies. Usually, the tutor will be able to customise the lessons to follow the material and topics covered in the student's exams. Please note that as per our Terms & Conditions, students who are under 18 must get permission from a legal guardian before booking.
Lessons are taught 1-on-1 so that you receive your tutor’s full attention and can make fast progress. Communicating via video call, you’ll be able to talk to your tutor and share learning materials as if you were in the same room.
The tutors vary in terms of their teaching methods, resources, experiences, and personalities. So we suggest you look at several profiles to choose the best tutor for you. Whichever Italian tutor you pick, they'll aim to tailor the lessons to your individual needs.
The vast majority of students take 55-minute lessons. But some tutors also provide the option of 30-minute lessons. If they do, you’ll see this noted on their profile (below their pricing and above the ‘Buy Lessons’ button).
55-minute lessons are recommended for most students. In general, we only suggest considering 30-minute lessons if they’re for your child, or you have an intermediate level and only want conversation practice.
We want students to have an exceptional learning experience on LanguaTalk, so we only accept the very best tutor applications. Though we consider qualifications and experience, we place equal value on communication skills, personality and reviews from previous students. Almost all tutors are native speakers of the language they teach, and we require that they can speak English too.
Each tutor is different - they have different backgrounds, strengths, teaching methods and personalities. So we suggest you browse several profiles to find the right Italian tutor for you.
The beauty of taking lessons online is that you can learn anytime, anywhere. To see tutors who are likely to fit your weekly schedule, use the availability filter at the top. Then when you see a tutor you like, check their profile calendar to make sure their time slots work for you. Some tutors have limited availability as they already have lots of students.
Our booking system is designed to be incredibly easy to use. You can see tutors' available hours in your local time zone. If you choose to book lessons with a tutor, you'll be able to purchase them one at a time, or buy in bulk with a volume discount. You can pay securely by card on our website.
You can manually add bookings to your personal calendar, or if you use Google calendar, you can add bookings automatically with our syncing feature. You'll also be able to receive email reminders to help ensure you don't forget to turn up.
You can reschedule or cancel lessons in a couple of clicks. Note that this can only be done up to 24 hours before the lesson time. This rule is required to protect tutors, who lose income when lessons are cancelled at the last minute.
Sometimes students feel uncertain about learning Italian online because they think it’ll be totally different to learning face-to-face. But usually when they try it, they find that the experience is almost the same and they often build a strong relationship with their tutor.
Once you start a video call with your chosen Italian tutor online, you’ll be able to communicate with them as if you were in the same room. They’ll usually also share learning resources with you (using Google Docs, YouTube etc.) and you’ll be able to collaborate in real-time.
According to the Foreign Service Institute, if you already speak English, Italian is one of the easiest languages to learn. The exact amount of time it will take you to become fluent will depend on many factors, such as your current level, your knowledge of similar languages, your capacity to learn, how you study, and how intensively you study. Some will be able to go from beginner to conversational fluency within a couple of months through intensive study. Others will take longer. Combining 1-on-1 lessons with an online Italian tutor with regular self-study is an effective way to learn Italian fast.
If you live in the US or Europe, face-to-face Italian lessons may cost anywhere between $20 and $60 (USD) per hour. Online tutoring tends to be cheaper than face-to-face because the tutor doesn't need to travel to you. An online Italian tutor could cost anywhere from $13 to $50 per hour, but be aware that very cheap tutors may lack experience. On LanguaTalk, Italian tutors typically charge between $14 and $40 per hour.
Of course, learning 1-on-1 with an experienced Italian tutor is not the cheapest way to learn; you could learn via a free app instead. But if you're serious about learning, nothing beats 1-on-1 Italian lessons with a great teacher.
There is no 'best way' to learn a language - it depends on your needs, level and budget. If you can't afford to take lessons, you can use a free app such as Duolingo to build your vocabulary. And to improve your listening skills, you can watch TV and listen to podcasts in Italian. But to learn how to actually speak a language, you need to talk to a native speaker on a regular basis and receive accurate feedback so that you improve. If you want to make fast progress, it's best to take 1-on-1 lessons that are tailored to your needs by an experienced online Italian teacher.
