- I hold a BA degree in Translation Studies from Valencia University and a MA degree in Legal Translation (University of Alicante). I have also a postgraduate certificate in Modern Foreign Languages Teaching from Canterbury Christ Church University. Apart from my degrees from university, I hold certificates in teaching Spanish as a foreign language and in professional proofreading from European University of Madrid. And if that is not enough for you I am also an examiner for the Cervantes Institute, and that means that I perfectly know how DELE exam works ;).

- I have 4 years of experience in teaching Spanish as a second language in a secondary school and a private company in Italy and another year of teaching experience in two Secondary schools in England. I also have 3 years of experience teaching adults in online platforms (+1300 hours taught).

Passionate about languages and intercultural exchanges, I have taught English and Spanish as foreign languages for over 15 years in Puerto Rico, France, and online.  I have had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of students from various backgrounds, integrating multicultural teaching resources to diversify learning styles.  I happen to believe that there is not one and only way of teaching or learning a foreign language.  Therefore, I adapt my lessons and methods to the students’ objectives, needs and interests.  My goal is always to offer an open, honest, communicative and supportive environment in which every student can feel motivated and appropriately challenged. 

Graduated in Hispanic Philology and Masters in Applied French, I have always kept up with my teaching training and have also completed a CELTA course for English teachers. This further training has provided me with the familiarity to different teaching methodologies, which have proven to be extremely useful in my classes.

I have worked as a Spanish teacher for 13 years, both in-person and online. My job duties typically include designing and delivering Spanish courses for all levels. Also a 13 year-experienced translator. I have recently worked on a project which involved developping Spanish lessons and units to be delivered online, so I am used to creating content of my own.

My teaching method is mostly conversational and based on a combination of skills. I use plenty of audiovisuals and various activities to get students to speak. My constant interest in professional training has allowed me to become familiar with techniques and tools that are essential in today´s second language learning.

My lessons are all similarly structured: a grammar point, a few exercises to get started, then controlled practice, and finally an audio or a video related to the topic.

I`ve been teaching languages for five years now and I`ve recently started teaching Spanish, my mother tongue.  

Every class is planned in advance and taking into account the student needs. When the class is finished, I always save a copy of what we`ve gone over, therefore the next class is even better and the material even more accurate and entertaining. I use a wide variety of resources, ranging from the most renowned text books, online exercises, or grammar resources to articles, news, or media in general.

I think It`s worth mentioning here a little bit of my background because it adds up to the whole experience. I`ve been surrounded by languages, different cultures and literature since I was a child. I`ve studied languages at school but also on my own for a long time. I was born and raised in Argentina but have lived in Spain for two years. I also love travelling. I worked for the tourism industry for several years before becoming a teacher. I love learning and talking about almost anything, so I even know some medical terms just to give an example of how much I love words and communication. I lived in Costa Rica for more than a year, and I have traveled all over Central America.  I love being a Spanish teacher because through my students I also learn about their culture and traditions.  And of course my desire is to help them learn this beautiful language.

¡Hola! My name is Elena, I'm a 24-year-old qualified teacher based on Sevilla, Andalucía. I have been teaching online for more than three years, with more than 1300 hours of lessons completed.  

I believe that online education is the future of learning, that's why I have a Master's degree in Education, Language teaching and Innovation. I am also qualified by Cambridge University as a language tutor in both Spanish and English.  

In these 3 years I have learnt a lot from my students. Every student is different, what may work for some may not work for others, so I try to get to know my students' likes and interests.
