Born in Gran Canaria in 1995, I decided to study a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (English-French) some years ago. I have also finished my master's degree in Teaching. My name is Melina and I am from Peru. I studied foreign languages at the National University of Cajamarca in the north of Peru and I got a degree in Education – Foreign languages. I speak Spanish (native) and English (B2) very well.

I will help you to learn Spanish for you to achieve your specific goals taking into account your needs, your level and your learning process. Our lessons will include videos, everyday Spanish conversations, slides and more. We will also have cultural activities such as gastronomy, music and tourism. The four skills to learn a foreign language will be included as well: reading, writing, listening and speaking, and you will also have the grammar so that you can understand the language and produce it.

I have worked with people from different ages and levels and I have helped some of them to pass international exams.  Over the last 20 years I have taught English and Spanish and I always try to do my best for my students to enjoy the lessons, have fun and above all to learn.

ME AS A TEACHER AND TEACHING STYLE

I consider myself to be an easy person to talk to, patient and fun. I have experience teaching different kinds of students from kids to adults in both online and classroom setting (more than 1300 lessons online + 3 years of classroom setting experience). I have been implementing a combination of the Flipped classroom and communicative approach into the lessons and so far, I have seen  great improvement in my students' ability to communicate. 

TYPES OF LESSONS AND MATERIALS:

Flipped classroom programme: It'll especially boost your Speaking skills in an organised, structured and visual way. Materials will be sent every weekend (video lessons, PDFS, flashcards, grammar games...) and all skills will be covered. In class, we’ll try to practice what you learnt through speaking activities.

Flex lessons: They can be a mix of structure lesson (the one above) and flexible lessons. You can also choose practicing your Spanish through my interactive magazine (B1-B2) which includes: articles, videos, expressions ... In class we can do debates and discussions around these topics.

Conversation programme: Based on the books “Conversar en español I & II”. We’ll do lot of controlled speaking practice. The course also includes access to the Power Points , audio files and notes from the lesson.

My name is Esther and I live in Changwon, a beautiful city in the south of South Korea. I came to Asia to work in the 3D graphic design industry but end up falling in love with teaching languages and culture. To become a good teacher and help my students I got a Spanish Philology undergraduate degree, a master’s degree in ELE (teaching Spanish as a second language) and became a certified DELE examiner. I have experience teaching students from many countries and priorities, in academies and online.

As a Spanish teacher, I am very patient and give you time to express by yourself. I don’t only focus on the correction of the grammar or pronunciation, but also give a lot of importance to the ability to communicate ideas and navigate through specific cultural situations.

PRONUNCIATION LESSONS

Our vocal apparatus is one more muscle that we have to exercise for better results. In our pronunciation lessons we are going to make each part of your mouth working out. My lessons are directed to students of all levels looking to develop their own speaking and writing style in Spanish. I believe that the creative drive is one of the most powerful accelerators of learning and in particular, language learning; so my classes involve acting exercises, fun writing prompts, vocal training akin to singers' training, and a variety of further creative work.

We will work on near perfect pronunciation through vocal practice that takes from singing practice, but focuses on diction. You'll become aware of how the muscles of your mouth and face create sound, and how using different resonance points throughout your face will get you to reproduce just the sound you were stuck with. Muscle memory, baby!

Fluency in articulating your own thoughts and essence in Spanish is achievable through writing prompts that do feel important for you. To write about a topic that actually matters to you, I'll provide you with beautiful vocabulary words, and we'll get through grammatical forms that may better encapsulate your ideas and feelings. I will help you make Spanish your own.

If you are wanting to absorb a particular part of Hispanic or Latino culture (e.g. Rosalía's composition, rap music, particular accents, reggeaton's lyrics), we will investigate and go through the elements at interest to get you to the point of creation. If you are a musician or a writer, I can help you use the rhythmic essence of Spanish in your own art. Hit me up!

Within every technique I use, I work with my knowledge of neural connection strengthening and weakening, all facilitated through repetition, reward, understanding and reprogramming of reflexes, investigation of previous outdated strategies, etc. Emotional management is key to success, and we'll work on that in your training just as much as in the linguistic side.
