I am a retired lawyer who practiced law in Canada for 38 years. Now I offer specialized lessons focusing on legal English for lawyers, law students and business people.

Most of my students are intermediate or advanced English speakers. Often they are preparing to relocate, or they’re getting ready for a job interview, or they’ve been asked to do a presentation at an international conference. Sometimes their job involves negotiating complex contracts or preparing corporate documents in English. If you fit any of these descriptions, I can help you gain the knowledge and confidence you need to master these challenges.

I use specialized “legal English” textbooks to introduce the vocabulary and concepts you’ll need to know. During our half-hour or one-hour classes, you will practice speaking while I help you correct errors in grammar, syntax or pronunciation. Then I can assign exercises for you to work on as homework.

I’m an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys interacting with my clients in an informal, relaxed way. You’ll learn to feel at ease speaking English with me.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, walking my two dogs, and travelling.
