My name is Maribel, I'm Colombian, and I'm a respiratory therapist and language teacher. Currently, I'm studying a master’s degree in Neuro-pedagogy. Thanks to all this knowledge, I use a methodology that is 100% personalized to your needs and desires.
I am currently specializing in Spanish for specific purposes, this specialty is a little different from general Spanish, because here we look for a specific goal for your learning, such as a conference, a upcoming trip or simply learning specific terminology of your area.
Together we will set a goal, and in base on that we will create your curriculum, where you are the leader and I give you recommendations.
If you are interested, I implement mindfulness, and breathe work exercises to bring all our attention to the class and to favor the concentration and maximize the feeling of joy while learning. We will use online platforms, games, videos, and audios to create fun and interactive classes. I take the time to design the curriculum for each student because we all learn different.

I have been working with Maribel 2x per week for the past 3-4 months, and I have enjoyed every minute of our class time together. Maribel's approach is very thoughtful, with each class helping me work toward a specific short-term Spanish goal/task that I have chosen / identified. This ensures that each session is meaningful and relevant for my personal needs and interests. Some classes are largely conversational, while others include a more structured task like preparing a short presentation for my Spanish speaking neighbors on the topic of earthquake preparedness and safety. After each class, I know exactly what to work on next and Maribel provides supporting materials to help me do so. I have had about 10-12 classes with Maribel thus far, and I am super happy I decided to work with her. She is always very prepared for each session, she assigns meaningful homework that helps me prepare for each class in advance, and there has been a clear and logical progression connecting each class to the previous and next.
