Hi everyone! My name is Sebastien. I'm a certified French teacher. I am originally from France, but in 2014 I decided to move to Colombia where I currently live and work.  I hold the DAEFLE (Diploma in Teaching French as a Foreign Language). I have a good level of English and speak Spanish fluently. I consider myself a calm, patient, attentive and flexible person. I love to travel ! Concerning my professional experience, I worked in different language institutes from 2014 to 2020. Since 2020, I have been working as a private online FLE teacher. My methodology is based on COMMUNICATION and ACTION, and is oriented towards learning grammar, vocabulary and phonetics through authentic documents. Knowing how to conjugate the past tense is good! But knowing how to use it to tell a friend what you did last weekend is better! The objective of my courses is that you can communicate in real life situations through different comprehension and production activities (oral and written).

I was a school teacher in France for 4 years, before moving to Argentina where I taught French for one year.

- Discuss well at the outset to determine your level, your goals, your interests, what you expect from online courses, in order to prepare a 100% personalized course.

- I rely on different methods for beginners, which I adapt to each student according to their progress. For people who have a more advanced level I like to rely on texts or videos for discussion. I aim to improve your comprehension and practice of the language, as I believe this is the best way to learn. To steer our conversations, I will consider your goals and craft lesson content to meet your needs, levels and objectives; these are aspects we will define together during our trial lesson. I graduated from the University of Oregon in the US with a Master of arts (French culture and Literature) and then I got a bachelor of Teaching French as a 2nd language from the University of Nantes, France. I started teaching at the University of Oregon as a GTF and it helped me find my path, teaching became a part of my identity and I really found myself thanks to this experience. Afterwards, I started to travel around south east Asia and moved to Vietnam and started teaching English to Vietnamese students. I started teaching French online when I moved to the Philippines in 2019, and have continued since in several countries such as Canada and France.

I provide personalized online classes, based on your level (from A1 to C2), your goals and your interests. Each class will include grammatical introductions/reminders, listening comprehension but most of all speaking practice. If you are planning to take the DELF exam, I can also help!
