Hi there!  My name is Deborah. I’m a native English speaker from the US, and I create customized lessons based on your level, goals, interests and learning style.

My #1 priority is to provide a warm, supportive atmosphere where you’ll feel comfortable to speak. I think that a communicative approach is key to language learning. I’ll be sure to give you plenty of opportunities to practice speaking, so that you’ll be able to find your words and express yourself confidently outside of class. 

I'd like to craft sessions that are both fun and productive for you.  Language learning should be pleasantly challenging. If the material is too easy, you’ll be bored. If it’s too hard, you’ll be overwhelmed. It’s my job to find “just the right amount of challenge” for you. I want you to enjoy and look forward to our sessions. After all, the “best” approach for you will be the one that you choose to stick with for the long-term.

• CeOLT certification (from polyglot Olly Richards' program, StoryLearning), Feb 2023
• TESOL/TEFL certification, Dec 2022
• Languages:   I can speak a bit of French and Spanish (both at an intermediate level). As a fellow student of other languages, I can definitely relate to the joys and frustrations you may face as you continue to hone your English skills.
