Hi!

My name is Cheila and I'm from Portugal. I'm an  European Portuguese native speaker.

I'm a certified teacher with experience tutoring online. I also worked for a while as a Portuguese Interpreter.

As a teacher I'm patient and flexible. However, you should know that there are not magic formulas. To learn a new language the key words are consistency and dedication.

Whether you want to learn Portuguese from scratch, or  to improve a specific area such as reading, writing, listening and speaking,if  you want to learn Portuguese to communicate with your family, because you are going to travel to Portugal, or simply because you are studying Portuguese as a hobby and want to clear up some doubts, I am here to help you! 

Our lessons will be adjusted to your goals and needs and I look forward to seeing you succeed! 

As for teaching methodology, my approach varies according to the topic and your objectives.  What do I mean by this? For example, when learning the basics of the language (alphabet and language sounds, etc.) I tend to take a traditional approach.  However, if your focus is on conversation, the lessons will be more interactive and practical. If your intention is to study the different areas of the language consistently, these methodologies will vary according to the content to be explored in each lesson (grammar, conversation, etc.).

As for resources, this will also depend on the area you want to improve and your level of language proficiency. For example, if your focus is on listening comprehension, we'll use audio files (TV or radio programs, various dialogues). If you want to work on your reading skills, we'll use literary works, legends, magazine and newspaper articles, etc.

Regardless of the area of study, I always recommend that you have the right textbook for your level and grammar.
