Hello Everyone,
Languages are a passion of mine, I am currently working on language 5 and 6. Because I've been learning other languages I am very familiar with the difficulties my students can have and which methods are efficient.
My first objective is for my student to develop the skills to speak and understand French so that they can be independant consulting French content at home. My classes are very relaxed and I try to have a good time while I teach. My classes are tailored to each student's level.
- For beginners: we work on the elements of the sentence, conjugating verbs, prononciation exercises, we read basic text and we start writing and speaking in French. we also introduce the idea of daily practice.
- For intermediates we work on more advanced grammatical concepts and conjugating with more tenses, we work with audio and written format (about 50/50 technique and practice)
- For advanced students we usually do more conversation based exercises, prior to the class I'll send a podcast, documentary, youtube video, movie extracts and more and the student have to express their thoughts, their critic or commentary on the topic, on my hand I will ask questions to keep the conversation going. We can also do interview prep, review of essays written in French etc.
I also do give a little bit of homework.

Elise is an excellent instructor. She immediately immerses you into the language, helping you understand sentence structure so that you can read and speak French much quicker. Her knowledge of the world around her and effortless approach to conversation makes learning fun and interesting, Her worksheets are also well thought out. If you also practice on your own after each lesson to reinforce what you learn, you'll definitely see a difference in comprehension in a short space of time!

I am nearing the end of the initial 20 lessons that I booked with Elise and I have absolutely nothing but respect for this amazing lady and teacher. Elise is beyond patient and creative in finding ways of explaining anything from pronuntiation to meanings of words. I have gone from 0 knowledge of French to being evaluated at A2, in less than 20 sessions. At this moment in time, I am unable to purchase more lessons with Elise, but I will absolutely book more in the future and keep improving my language skills. I most certainly recommend Elise as a teacher for anyone who is interested in learning French from scratch or even if you already have some knowledge. You will not regret it.

Over several sessions with Elise, I begin to feel very open to her in discussions of matters of philosophy and thoughts of daily life. I credit her easy manner and her openness. There is vocabulary I have learned, thanks to these conversations. She is so likable, and I guess that is what creates comfort for me in conversation.

Elise has such an open demeanor and never is at a loss for subjects for discussion. It challenges my vocabulary and I often need to recall my shortcomings which is why I value so highly our lessons.
