Hi, I’m Harriet — a friendly, experienced English teacher and native speaker with over 20 years of teaching experience.

Do you want to speak English more confidently? Prepare for a job interview? Improve your pronunciation or expand your vocabulary? Whatever your goal, my lessons are designed around you.

At the start, we’ll talk about what you want to achieve and why it matters to you. Then we’ll create a personalised plan with interesting and challenging activities to help you make real progress. My lessons focus on practical communication, helping you feel more confident using English in real-life situations.

I teach general conversation, confidence building, vocabulary development and Business English. I’ve helped many students prepare successfully for job interviews, take on new professional roles, and improve their fluency both in and outside work.

My lessons are lively, supportive and varied. I use a range of materials, topics and activities to keep things engaging and relevant to your interests. We’ll also regularly review your progress, and I’ll suggest simple ways to practise outside our lessons so you keep improving.

I have experience teaching students from beginners to advanced level, from teenagers to adults. I also hold Master’s degrees in Creative Writing and Psychology, which means I can support both creative communication and more formal or academic English.

I have recently moved from Hove in the UK to Portugal and am currently learning Portuguese, so I understand how challenging (and rewarding!) learning a new language can be.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy walking, reading, exploring new places, drinking good coffee, watching films and meeting people from different cultures.
