Hola! My name is María and I'm from Mexico.
I have 3 years of teaching experience. I majored in Languages from Universidad de las Américas Puebla and I obtained a certification to teach Spanish as a foreign language. My classes use a blended methodology that incorporates grammar and communication activities in a laid-back and dynamic way. I have hand picked or created all the materials according to the needs of my students and I often use resources like audios, videos and games to make the lesson more interactive. My main goal is to help my students feel confortable expressing themselves and learn at their own pace.
I have studied several languages including French, German, English and Italian. My favorite part of language teaching is getting to know the cultures and interests of my students. Maria is incredibly patient and helpful. She has a great ability to explain the intricacies and nuances of the Spanish language in a way that's easy to understand. When I don't completely have a grasp on something, she circles back to make sure I am successful. I've had many A-HA moments during our lessons, and I'm learning so much. I highly recommend her!

Maria is amazing, I chose her because she's from Mexico and I wanted to learn Mexican Spanish. Maria does an amazing job at this and uses Mexican culture and history as a way to work through language exercises. Her lessons are both engaging and thought provoking. I can't wait for my next lesson!

These lessons have been helping me greatly! I love how Maria keeps speaking spanish throughout the lesson and finds different ways to explain in spanish when I don't understand. She covers the basics pretty quick and with time I've seen improvement. Highly recommend! She is also very patient when I'm stuck or thinking or am having trouble understanding.

Absolutely loved my classes so far with Maria, I'm quite nervous speaking in Spanish but Maria quickly put me at ease. Her class has a perfect mix of culture, conversation and grammar. Can't wait for my next class. So fun!
