Hello, My name is Emily. I was born and raised in South Korea however I currently live in Canada. Like many Korean and anyone interested in learning Korean language, I am a big fan of K-TV shows, K-pop groups. I am excited to help you with learning Korean, recommending good textbooks, fun materials to keep you engaged while understanding Korean culture better. While I don't hold an officially approved teaching certificate, I have extensive experience teaching Korean to many people with various backgrounds. Meanwhile, I also taught my son Korean for many years. If there's anything I can do to assist fellow language enthusiasts or anyone interested in learning Korean, I'm more than happy to share my knowledge and experiences. Language learning is a fantastic journey, and I'm thrilled to be a part of a community that embraces cultural exploration and language acquisition. Let's embark on this enriching adventure together!

에밀리 선생님 is a fantastic tutor! She has a deep understanding of Korean colloquially and systematically and is great at explaining difficult concepts (well, difficult for me as a monolingual English speaker). She has always been patient and encouraging, setting up good structure but willing to deviate when helpful. No matter what your specific need, she is the tutor you’ve been looking for!

This is my 4th lesson with Emily (4 and a half if you include the trial lesson) and she has been lovely! I would highly recommend as she gives you homework to help you to apply the knowledge and retain the information. She is very knowledgeable and goes at a pace that suits you. If you are struggling both in the lesson or have questions outside of the lessons she will always answer them or ensure she goes over the information in the next lesson. I would highly recommend for any beginner learner such as myself.

She's an excellent teacher! classes are fun and engaging which is really refreshing. She's very willing to explain concepts I'm unsure of and answer any questions I ask even if they're silly. Her resources and teaching tools are excellent and easy to understand, which is really comforting as a beginner student. Overall, Emily is a very patient and attentive teacher and I'm very excited to continue this journey with her.
