My name's Marika and I'm here to help you learn or improve your Italian.
I’ve been working as a teacher since 2016 and I also work as a tour guide for an American company that runs hiking and biking trips all over the world.

I use diverse materials for my classes: extracts from newspaper articles, textbooks, worksheets, videos, songs and anything that may interest you.

Ciao! I have been taking lessons with Marika twice a week since August of 2021, and I don’t plan on stopping there. I speak mainly English, but Spanish as well. I am now in Florence, Italy, and I can truly feel the effects of my lessons with Marika. I am doing great over here when it comes to getting around. For a few examples, placing an order, asking for directions, speaking with waiters and waitresses, asking for items at the grocery store, and even a bit of small talk with the locals !! Marika is a very helpful, non-judgmental, enthusiastic teacher, and her English is great! I was never afraid to ask any questions as it is apparent that she enjoys answering them; no matter how silly they may seem to me in the moment. Our lessons always felt like one long conversation; with of course some textbook exercises as well. Even though at times I would switch back to English by default, she would always give me a push to try to express what I had just said, but in Italian. This helped greatly as I could make the connections between the two languages at that very moment. She is also always on top of sending, and providing materials for me to keep busy between lessons. This along with her many other great teaching qualities are what helped me excel to such a level in just a few months. I highly recommend! Grazie mille Marika!!!

This was my first full lesson and it was great! I'm learning Italian from scratch and Marika is really patient and very good at explaining things if you're struggling to understand them.
