Hello! My name is Josh, and I'm a TEFL-certified, native English tutor with a background in creative writing, theatre and storytelling.
Spirituality and traveling are also essential to me. Over the last three years, I've traveled to India and other parts of Southeast Asia. Not only does it nourish my soul to do so, but I also see it as a vital way to collect stories. It's also why I enjoy teaching English, because I love hearing other people's stories, and the opportunity to help them share their stories in a second language is wonderful! A teacher is also learning, of course, and every conversation is an opportunity to see the world differently.
I’ve taught over a 1,000 lessons during a two and a half year period. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m far more concerned in creating a learning environment that’s completely tailored to your personality, your learning style, goals and interests. All of my students engage in conversation practise, grammar study, and in refining their listening, reading and writing skills. I've helped many students pass their IELTS exams and guided younger students in preparation for school exams.
I pride myself on choosing conversation topics that truly speak to your genuine interests and passions. My priority is helping you to find your individual voice in a second language and to build your confidence over time.
I've also taught many students in creative writing, both native and non-native speaker. It's a speciality of mine. So, if you're interested in improving your writing skills - whether for academic, business or creative purposes - then please do get in touch!
PS - Regardless of the challenges involved, I believe language-learning should be fun and not a source of stress. Therefore, laughter is not only encouraged in my classroom, it's a necessity!
I look forward to hearing from you,
Warmly,
Josh
