Hi! My name is Vanessa, I am from Peru and I currently live in Washington State, in the US. Besides being fluent in Spanish and English, I speak Portuguese (C1) and French(B1).
I have been teaching online since 2018. Being a language learner myself, I know what the most common challenges are when learning a language and the most successful ways to overcome them.
In my opinion, the easiest and most memorable way of learning is having fun during the process. That is why I aim to provide you with a supportive, engaging and thought-provoking environment in which your oral production will take the lead role. Having said that, I am very flexible, and I will adjust my methods according to your specific needs and requirements. On every session, corrections made will be provided on a customized Google doc, so that you can always refer to it whenever you want to study and keep track of our lessons.

Vanessa’s strategy in teaching is top notch. She asks great questions and keeps me engaged and conversing. I learned so many new verbs my first lesson! I feel like the opportunity to discuss things in Spanish is exactly where I can grow and expand my knowledge. If you are keen to improve your Spanish conversation but are intimidated by the thought of a one-on-one conversation with a stranger, believe me I’ve been there. And I can’t recommend Vanessa highly enough. She is a first rate teacher and perhaps more important, a genuinely kind person. I don’t know about you, but my ability to speak Spanish tanks if I am at all nervous. With Vanessa I felt at ease from the start. She is like your compañera for the journey. She takes the time to discover your interests, and then gives you real things to read, watch or listen to that you can then discuss together at the next session. She takes excellent notes without interrupting the flow, and puts them in a shared document so that you can review and learn from them.
