My name is José. I lived most of my life in São Paulo, Brazil, and after a period in London, I’m now based in Turin, Italy. I’m keen to help you learn Portuguese—whether it’s for travelling, communicating with your loved ones, work, or simply for enjoyment—regardless of your level.

From day one, our lessons will be tailored to your goals and interests, making them engaging, enjoyable, and effective in helping you gain fluency and confidence.

I always bring cultural elements into our interactions, drawing connections between your background and the Portuguese-speaking world. This makes the learning experience richer and helps you feel closer to native speakers—an essential part of mastering a language!

I also have professional experience in various fields, from hospitality to business consultancy, which has given me great flexibility with the language. I’ll use this to help you expand your vocabulary and communicate more naturally.

Beyond languages, I’m passionate about music, cooking, and travel. I play the guitar (mainly blues, rock, and bossa nova), love making Brazilian-style barbecue (the famous churrasco!), and love discovering hidden gems in Italian cuisine. So far, I’ve been to 29 countries, including an incredible five-month trip through Southeast Asia, and I can’t wait to explore even more of the world!
