Hi, my name is Chiara and I’m from Italy, but I lived abroad for about 6 years, in the Uk, in Australia, in New Zealand and in Perù.
I have been working as an English and Italian teacher for about 9 years now, and I love my job. I love helping others achieve their goals.
I love traveling and meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. That’s why I decided to study languages. I am a polyglot and besides English and Italian, I can also speak Spanish, French, and German. So I know what it’s like to study a foreign language! I can teach you how to improve your speaking, and your listening, besides the grammar and the vocabulary, because I’ve done it myself in the first place! I also know that sometimes learning a language is not easy, but I know how you can overcome these difficulties.
My lessons vary according to the student’s needs. During our first lesson together we will decide what your goals are and what your level is. We can focus on conversation, prepare examinations or certifications, improve vocabulary or grammar. Or we can focus on listening, which is a problem for so many students, I know understanding native speakers is not easy for some students, but I can teach you how to improve this skill.
My first goal is always to make the student feel comfortable in speaking another language so that they can feel confident about it and make progress more easily.
I believe the secret to learning a language is enjoying the process, having fun is the key!

This is my 3rd lesson with Chiara and I feel we have now developed a good working relationship and I already feel so much more confident to speak in Italian. She helps correct me when I go wrong but also if she can understand me she allows me to continue and forgives the mistakes. It is better to speak Italian and make mistakes then not speak at all :)

My lesson with Chiara was very good and I learned a lot during our lesson. She is giving me the confidence to speak more italian that is relevant to everyday situations and is aimed at my own level of understanding and ability.

I've book 10 sessions with Chiara because my oral comprehension was much less than my reading comprehension. After the ten session I feel much more comfortable speaking and listening in Italian, including navigating how to handle what I don't understand.
