The Court had directed the Election Commission to increase random matching of VVPAT slips with EVMs from one to five polling booths per assembly segment, previously also on 8th April .
Over 200 teachers from Delhi University issued a signed statement condemning remarks Prime Minister Modi made about late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Modi, in a rally on 4 May had called Gandhi Brashthachari no.1. The statement from Delhi University called Modi's remarks derogatory and untrue.
