Valerie is a mom, grandma, wife, gardener, photographer, and 10.5-year lung cancer survivor. A nagging cough led to a myriad of tests and ultimately the diagnosis of Stage IIIB lung cancer in 2011. She had her right lung removed shortly afterward, and has been "NED" (no evidence of disease) ever since.
