Doug and Tamra planned to celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary but both had been sick with covid. Doug's sickness had not been getting better. He went to their local community hospital in Burns Oregon. After a look at his lungs, the doctor wanted to send Doug to Bend which is 2 hours from Burns. He was taken by air flight to Bend's St. Charles hospital. Doug tried to recover in progressive care but things took a turn for the worse and Doug had to be placed on a ventilator in the ICU.
