The Meaning Behind Taipei Zoo's Sika Deer Emblem
The Taipei Zoo is one of the largest zoos in Asia.
If you've visited the zoo in person, or checked out their website, you may have noticed their emblem (徽章，標誌).
It's the head of a Formosan sika deer (台灣梅花鹿).
But…why did they choose to use this animal as their emblem?
The Formosan sika deer is endemic (特有物種) to Taiwan.
