Description: Shepherdstown, WV is a quaint mountain town that has its share of haunted history. I would say 90% of the hauntings are Civil War related. The town saw 2 battles within a few days of each other. If correct, the entire town of about 400 buildings at the time was used as a hospital including alleyways. Â As we know surgical techniques at the time weren't as sophisticated as they are today plus hygiene. There was very little washing of hands between patients, if any.
