You get what you pay for. Find a medium with a good reputation, and don't balk at paying for their time.
Confirm that the medium practices “evidential mediumship“, meaning that they want to know as little information as possible, and they will provide evidence to you throughout the session that you are speaking with a loved or known person.
Record the session, if possible.
