Jan swam in the golden age of Australian swimming in the 50’s to 60’s, and as a nationally ranked 400 and 800m swimmer, she narrowly missed the 1960 Australian Olympic team and the 1962 Commonwealth Games team. We find out why she ended up working as a coach for Don Talbot when she retired in 1962 and how this set her on a coaching journey.
