Sansai is written in Kanji characters as 'mountain vegetables'. Vegetables(yasai) are large, but sansai are small. Vegetables are produced by people. Sansai is not food produced by people. They are in the mountains. They can also be found in parks and forests. In the UK, I sometimes see sansai when I go for a walk, but I have never picked and eaten them.
