Black Americans in general were more likely to view pornography than whites, and they were increasing in their pornography viewership at a higher rate than whites, according to a recent study. Using nationally representative data from the 1973–2016 General Social Survey (GSS; n=20,620), and taking into account different ethnoreligious histories with pornography as a moral issue, researchers examined how race, gender, and religion intersected to influence trends in pornography viewership over 43 years.
