Description: On the morning of July 10th, 1981, shots rang out in the small town of Skidmore, Missouri. Outside of the D&G Tavern, the engine of a truck could be heard roaring to life, until it gave out, and eventually the engine blew. In the truck was the body of Ken Rex McElroy, who was known in Skidmore as the “town bully.” Incredibly, with dozens of people surrounding the truck when the shooting took place, there were no witnesses who could identify the shooter, or shooters, besides McElroy’s wife, who was in the truck beside him when he was shot.
