Description: Ironically, God uses human tendencies to distinguish His elect from the religious crowd.  The Jewish establishment rejected Jesus, the prophets, and the apostles due to prejudice. Despite our so-called sophistication today, human nature has not changed. John the Baptist received his training in the wilderness and wore a garment of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey. Thus, John’s education, dress, and demeanor were enough reason for all (but those whose hearts God touched) to reject his message.
