Dr. Bratberg is well acquainted with the challenges community pharmacists and pharmacies face regarding opioid safety, overdose, harm reduction, and addiction pharmacotherapy. In 2012, Dr. Bratberg, along with a URI student pharmacist, co-developed an overdose education and naloxone training program for pharmacists in the first-in-nation statewide Collaborative Pharmacy Practice Agreement for naloxone. He is an unpaid consultant for prescribetoprevent.org and prevent-protect.org, websites devoted to opioid overdose education and naloxone training for health professionals, community members, and health departments.
