The wise virgins took both their lamps and extra oil. The bridegroom’s long delay necessitated the refilling of the lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they ‘all’ slumbered and slept. Brother Singh asks how negligent one would be to have extra oil available yet not use it. The only diligent person was the watchman. At midnight, he sounded the alarm, ‘Behold, the bridegroom comes! Go out to meet him.’”
