Kwajo grew up in social housing, and his family were housed in inhabitable conditions: unsafe spaces riddled with mould, cockroaches, mice, leaks and damp. Kwajo’s father was diagnosed with cancer and, whilst being nursed in this environment, passed away from his illness.
