We see this in Acts of the Apostles chapter 18. The second time he spoke to them through a letter. He had heard of moral decadence amongst them and he felt he ought to address it.
The book of First Corinthians is therefor Paul response to the feedback he received from his first letter through someone from Chloe's house.
