However, after Adam and Eve broke their covenant with God and lost access to Paradise, they became mortal beings. As we grow old and soon pass away, we have the potential to become either a natural or life-giving spirit. During the Fast of Daniel, we strive to fill ourselves with the eternal, Presence of the Holy Spirit, rather than the temporal things of this world.
