உலக வறுமை ஒழிப்பு நாள் (International Day for the Eradication of Poverty) ஒவ்வோர் ஆண்டும் அக்டோபர் 17 ஆம் நாள் உலகமுழுவதும் கடைப்பிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. உலகளாவிய ரீதியில் வறுமை தொடர்பான விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தி பசிப்பிணியில் இருந்து மக்களை விடுவிப்பதற்காக ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அமைப்பு 1992 ஆம் ஆண்டு வறுமை ஒழிப்பு நாளை அதிகாரபூர்வமாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டது.
உலகில் வறுமை நிலை காரணமாக பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள மக்களுக்கு உதவ வேண்டியதன் அவசியம் குறித்து அனைத்து தரப்பினரின் கவனத்தை ஈர்க்கும் நோக்கத்துடன் வறுமை ஒழிப்பு தினத்தில் பல்வேறு வேலைத் திட்டங்கள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.
