Description: Transparency International UK says inquiries legislation being proposed in Gibraltar now is almost 20 years old in the UK. The corruption watchdog is concerned it's intended to undermine the McGrail inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the early retirement of the former police commissioner. The Government says it has no intention to use the power to stop or delay the McGrail inquiry. It believes the proposed law would not affect the independence of the current inquiry, or obstruct its progress, or influence any witness.
