Description: Our final day in Ireland was a long one… After a walk into Killarney National Park to visit Muckross Abbey (it had finally stopped raining!) we drove to County Kildare and our final accommodation at Carton House.

It's about a 1km walk from the closest car park to Muckross Abbey. You can climb up to the tower which offers beautiful views down into the building and into the surrounding parkland.
The focal point of the abbey is the ancient yew tree in the center of the cloister....
