Description: Matt Doherty is a former North Carolina college basketball player and head coach. He was a member of the 1982 Tar Heels national championship team that featured future Hall of Famers Michael Jordan and James Worthy and future NBA superstar Sam Perkins. After his playing career, Matt went into coaching and was the head basketball coach at Notre Dame, North Carolina, FAU and SMU.
