Dr. Skiba is an expert in great ape behavior and has been working with Kanzi and the Ape Initiative bonobo family for 10 years. Dr. Skiba's research focuses on social communication in humans and our closest living relatives - bonobos and chimpanzees. Dr. Skiba incorporates evolutionary theory, behavioral neuroscience, and cognitive psychology, to better understand the emergence of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder.
