Have you ever heard of a country named San Marino? I have to admit that I have never heard of it before doing this podcast. Anyway, San Marino is the world’s oldest republic. Legend has it that it was founded by a Croatian stonemason named San Marino on September 3, 301. He and his followers climbed to this country in the mountains of northern Italy to escape the prosecution of Christians by the Roman Empire Diocletian. San Marino is so tiny that it doesn’t have an airport or a train station. To get there, you have to land in Italy and get there by car.
