Right after the revolution in her country, her father decided to move the family to England and in two years after, to the United States to join relatives in Dallas, Texas. Katayoon completed her education in 1988 at University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and the same year got married and moved to California.
