Description: Jesus said, "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of Me will save it (Luke 9:24).” It’s a contrarian thought: rather than self-entitlement we embrace self-denial, and, in doing so, we find the joy and meaning that we’ve always wanted. It’s the spiritual principle of "addition by subtraction.” God does great things when we learn to subtract ourselves and add God’s call. Our passage today is Luke 9:23-27.
