Rush was a prog-rock band formed in Toronto in 1968. The band started with Geddy Lee as lead singer, bassist and keyboard player, and Alex Lifeson as guitarist and backing vocalist. The band originally saw John Rutsey on drums, until he would depart the band shortly after their first album. Neil Peart would step in as drummer and lyricist of the band from that point onward.
