Description: JACC: Case Reports Associate Editor Maurizio Taramasso, MD, PhD, joins author Brinder S Kanda, MD, FACC to discuss their case presented at AHA and published in JACC: Case Reports. In this case, an 83-year-old female with decompensated heart failure was found to have HOCM with SAM of the mitral valve and a large P2 flail segment with ruptured cords. TEER was performed resulting in mild MR and resolution of the prior LVOT gradient. The case supports TEER for patients with medication-refractory HOCM.
