Doesn’t matter if it’s a bar, a café, a networking event, or a family reunion. Work tends to be what occupies the majority of people’s time, so naturally, this is what people will ask about when meeting each other for the first time. But as I get older, I tend to appreciate this question less and less because although it’s meant to be a conversation starter, it usually has the opposite effect.
