On January 26, 2011, she was found stabbed to death over 20 times inside the apartment she shared with her fiance Samuel Goldberg. Goldberg told the police he had gone to the gym and returned to find Ellen's body. He called the police at 6:33 p.m.The coroner originally ruled Ellen was murdered.
