At the planning meeting for the GHI, which took place in Dublin in May 2018, the partners felt strongly that the terms we were working with—“democracy”, “crisis” and “cultural trauma”—needed to be discussed and defined at the beginning of our institute in Dubrovnik so that all researchers had a point of common reference.
