Description: In 2009 Pieter Coenen obtained my MSc degree at the faculty of human movement sciences (VU University, Amsterdam) after which Pieter Coenen started his PhD program. In his PhD project he studied the aetiology of musculoskeletal pain in workers, which ultimately resulted in his thesis ‘On the origin of back pain’. In the meantime, he successfully finalized his epidemiological education, granting him the official title of ‘Epidemiologist’.
