Director of the Johnson Black Cultural Center at Vanderbilt University, Dr. Dobson teaches Creative Writing at Fisk University and is an award winning writer himself. Gus landed on Dr. Dobson's 2010 publication, Rendered Invisible: Stories of Black and Whites, Love and Death, while researching the 1980 slaughters of black males in Buffalo and New York state at large.
