Description: On the 20th June 1931, Hubert Chevis was enjoying an evening with his wife Frances at his home in Camberley, Surrey. The newly married couple had hosted a cocktail party and when their friends left sat down for their dinner. The cook had prepared a Manchurian partridge and Frances carved it putting some on her husband's plate and some on hers. Hubert ate some of the meat and complained that it tasted bad.
