Description: Quentin Van Meter, MD, FCP, president and longtime member of the American College of Pediatricians, graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1969 and received his M.D. in 1973 from the Medical College of Virginia. While in medical school, he entered the Navy through the Health Professions Scholarship and went on to a pediatric internship and residency at the Naval Hospital in Oakland. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology in 1980 at Johns Hopkins. He completed 20 years of service in the Navy Medical Corps, retiring as a Captain in 1991.
